| Do I need high speed internet access or will dial up work? No. The course was created with dial-up users in mind. Of course, DSL or broadband is a faster connection, but your experience will be excellent even with a dial-up connection. With dial up you may not be able to view the optional training videos, but these are not required to complete the course. The videos are strictly an optional tool. |
| Can I take this course with another browser such as FireFox or the AOL browser? You can take the course with any browser of your choosing! Our courses were designed with Microsoft Internet Explorer,Firefox and safari browser.
You have to download flash and windows media player plugings for Firefox and safari.If you use other browsers please make sure to download necessary plugins. This means our technical support team will not be able to help you in the event of a problem while taking a course with the AOL browser or other browsers. We do suggest that you use the IE browser while signed on with AOL. To do this, log in to AOL and minimize the program. While still connected to the Internet, click on the START button in the lower left-hand corner of your screen. Click PROGRAMS, and then click INTERNET EXPLORER. The program icon will have a blue e. |
| Do I need to use a PC? What if I have a Macintosh? If you have a MAC, then you can still sign on to take any of our online courses as long as you have flash player plugins and flip4mac, Windows Media Components for QuickTime. And make sure your browsers securities allow cookies. Without these plugins our system will not work on MAC. Many of our customers have taken their courses on MACs and had no problems whatsoever. However, be aware that our technical support team may be unable to assist you should you encounter technical difficulties. |
| What happens if I have technical difficulties or the system malfunctions during the course? If you experience any problems while taking the course, then please call 1-800-780-2113 or e-mail support@PreLicenseTraining.com for assistance. PreLicenseTraining.com provides customer support 24/7 by email and from 9am to 6pm Monday thru Saturday by phone. Our normal response time by email is within 1 to 2 hours and by phone within the next business day if not sooner. We ONLY support Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers. We DO NOT support other browsers such as FireFox or Safarri. |
| What happens if I get disconnected from the Internet? If you get disconnected from the Internet, then you will need to log back into your account. If this happens, then you will be returned to the beginning of the lesson you were working on when you were disconnected. |
| Do I need to have sound on my computer to take these classes? No, sound is not required. The beginning tutorial and introduction explain the course overview and give detailed instructions via audio files but if you do not have speakers for sound you can read a narrative about the tutorial overview and the introduction. To take advantage of the optional video training sessions, the videos do require sound. |
| What if I lose my certificate and need a replacement? At the end of the course you will be able to print your own certificate of completion for FREE. You will want to print out two copies of your Certificate of Completion, one for your records and one to take with you to the state exam. The print-out will be as valid as the original. Obviously, you need access to a printer.
If your days have expired in your course you will need to purchase a course extension on our home page under Login Now. A Course Extension is a 30 day extension for just $19.99 and all you need is your PLT login information. You can print your cert as well as re-study the course information without a timer.
If you just need your cert and don't need the study time it would be a $9.95 charge and we will email you a PDF cert to print. Please authorize us to charge the credit card on file or you may provide us with a new credit card to charge.

| What if my streaming video is cutting in and out or poor quality? Please remember that our video is streaming over the internet and will only be as good as the speed of your internet connection. You will not be able to do other things on your computer when watching the streaming video since the video files are so large. Also remember that these video clips are a supplemental tool and are not required to complete the course and receive your certificate of completion.. |
